Jack Reacher

I think Jack Reacher is aimed at the male gender simply because its an action film and includes 'fighting' and 'blood' and i believe woman aren't quite into this type of movie. Although it could be aimed at woman because they are using Tom Cruise and a lot of woman are into him, he's very popular in the film industry and the film will get a lot of views simply because he is the main actor.

How have the producers targeted the audience?


Like i said before, i think they have used the characters in the trailer to target an audience. Again the example of Tom Cruise as he's a very big movie star and the films that he is in often do really well. However, also, the trailer is very jam packed with all the different things that are going on it. It never stops with information and action therefore you are left wanting to see more of the film and this is a good feature to have if you want to catch an audience.

Doctor Strange

I think the target audience for Doctor Strange is teenagers and older. I think this because its made by Marvel so therefore you automatically think of teenagers. I would say around 15 and older because there was a comic made before this and the younger generation probably havent read this of heard of it. I think its aimed at both genders as there isnt anything that stops you from thinking its aimed at one side. It an action film/ superhero. Most people love marvel films with all the superheros. This is one that most people won't have heard of therefore people may want to watch it more than the more original marvel superhero films.

How have the producers targeted the audience?

I think they have targeted the audience by making something different. For example, marvel keep creating thee films to do with superhero's like, Hulk, Captain America, Iron Man etc. However this is a new superhero and its made in a completely different way. He doesn't have an obvious super power, therefore people will want to go and see it because its something that they've never done before. I think with the superhero being a little bit older than the other superheros this also makes a difference. Another thing that could change the audience of this film is that the superhero is being taught by other people in a normal place, they don't have a big expensive place where they train. I also think this film isn't balanced. For example there isn't as much of the girl as there is in other marvel films. The other ones have a balance because you also see the girl fighting etc, however in this she is sort of just the 'teacher' we don't really see much of her which may change the audience to aimed at men rather than both. This trailer is also jam packed like the other one i have talked about. You never have a break from what is happening, it sort of introduces us to what the film is about and how he trains. For example he doesn't train by practicing fighting and using an object as help when fighting. This film, he learns by reading and training, reading spells etc. Also he doesn't  have an object to help him, he uses hi hands to create 'magic' after reading spells. This superhero film is as if he has proper super powers using his own body to fight, or save the world.

Mission impossible

Mission impossible has a similar target audience to both of these films as it is an action film also and it doesn't stop. If you watch the trailer of the movie mission impossible, it links to both of these films. It is action and it is mainly aimed at the male gender as it includes fighting. This film also has the main character played by Tom Cruise which means it is a popular film and a lot of people will have seen it. This films total gross as of last year is £195,042,377. The film made millions worldwide.

The Avengers

The Avengers mainly compares to Doctor Strange as they are both marvel films. However it links to both of these as more of the male gender will have seen this film than the female. The avengers is slightly different to doctor strange because it includes more of the female gender. Also all these characters have an object ton help them unlike Doctor Strange. The total gross made for The Avengers is £459,005,868 as of last year. As you can see this is millions more than Mission impossible which tells us that the avengers had a wider range of audiences than mission impossible. I believe this is because more of the younger generation has watched the avengers than mission impossible.

Edge of tomorrow

Edge of tomorrow mainly links to Jack Reacher because of it being an action film also.
